Wishing you guys a very happy and healthy 2018. Last year was a very fulfilling year and I hope this year turns out to be even better.
Since this is my first blog of the year, I am quite excited. Like last year, I will be focusing on styling what we already have. Before you find an outfit boring and want to give it away, think again. Styling it differently will make you want to keep it.
Like always I bring to you sustainable fashion which is deep rooted with tradition. Today, I will showcase styling elements for the wonderful craft called Ajrak.
Ajrak is a beautiful example of a craft that is on point with aesthetics. It has existed in harmony with nature for many centuries.
This Ajrak dress has the perfect balance of crimson red and indigo. I am happy to see how Ajrak is gaining popularity because of it pattern and for being environmental friendly.
Below are 5 styles that I have created for this dress:
- THE STATEMENT BELT:
A wide statement belt on an anti-fit dress will always elevate and quirk up the look. These belts are currently on-trend. I used a black belt with the Ajrak dress and it turned out to be quite a stunner.
2. KUTCH EMBROIDERY BAG:
There is something about bright colours. Playing them against the subtle hues creates a magical effect. This beautiful and bright kutch embroidery handbag from Gujarat looks pretty against the blue.
3. THE STATEMENT NECK-PIECE:
Any outfit looks stunning when we use a statement necklace with it. Layered, chokers, bling and so many more formats can make your outfit stand out. Always remember not to go overboard with jewellery if you have a statement necklace on. I chose a subtle and not layered necklace against the dress. It helped keep the look clean and neat.
4. THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS:
Long jackets have been on-trend for quite some time now. They look great in all forms, patterns and textures. Since this was a shirt dress, I used it as a jacket against my LBD. You can try using it with jeans or shorts as well.
5. MIXING THE ELEMENTS:
In order to be more experimental and quirky, one can mix few elements and create one unique look. I used the LBD, necklace and bag for a happy brunch outfit.
I am sure most of you’ll will be able to recreate the above looks with some other pattern/texture. It is always nice to experiment with clothes and make the most of it. I hope to come back with more styling tips for contemporary and sustainable fashion.
